SOCIS Budgets & Expense Reports
SOCIS Composes a budget and an expense report for submission to the College of Physical and Engineering Science Student Council every semester. They vote to approve the budget or to modify and approve it, and then provide us with the approved amount out of the student fees paid to them.
SOCIS does not receive a fixed amount or any amount automatically. Every semester we must come up with events to run and services to provide, and we are compensated on that basis alone. It is up to you to attend our open planning meetings (Typically Thursdays at 5:30 PM) and to make sure that events you want to happen are chosen!
Our next planning meetings (for the Winter 09 Semester) will be held soon. We will announce these through our mailing list, this website, and at our Thursday meetings. If you would like to participate, please come out to meetings or at least join our mailing list! If you are not on our mailing list, please email exec@socis.ca and ask to be included. We want to run events for you!
