Looking to purchase 2, 1GB PC2100/PC2700 SODIMM sticks (200 pin) for a laptop upgrade.

If you are unsure if your old laptop memory will work, feel free to contact me with details regarding the make/model of the machine and I'll see if the RAM inside is compatible.

I don't think you'll have

I don't think you'll have much luck finding these second hand. DDR was effectively phased out around 2005 by DDR2, and most systems of that era came with 1GB of RAM total, usually using 2x512MB DIMMs.

If no-one has any to spare, here's the cheapest I could find it online:

I'm curious, what processor is your laptop running?

Yes, I know they are quite

Yes, I know they are quite old. :)

I have two iBook G4's that I am looking to upgrade so that they can comfortably run leopard. I purchased them on eBay for $150 combined, though they needed some work (reflow soldering to correct some cold points on the logic board...)

Both laptops will be used for web/itunes/iphoto/presentation stuff, so leopard should suffice. But to run leopard on a 1.2 Ghz G4, it is highly advisable to max out the RAM. These two notebooks only have the base 256 MB (onboard), which is fine for Tiger and MS Office, but simply not enough to run leopard comfortably.

Thus far I have had a few bites elsewhere regarding the SODIMMs, but I agree it is a difficult task given how old the exact specifications are.

Just as a follow-up re: the posted link.

For a second I was excited as I had not found any price that low. But alas, I *think* I find the problem: it appears as though the referenced items are PC5400 not PC2100/PC2700.
